Billy Mills was born on June 30, 1938 in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. He is an Oglala Lakota (Sioux) Indian and he was raised on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Billy grew up in poverty and was orphaned at the age of 12.

The 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games
No American had ever won the 10,000 meter race in an Olympics. Billy Mills' qualifying time was almost a full minute slower than the favorite's, Ron Clarke of Australia.
One of the greatest upsets in Olympics history and certainly inspirational.

One Thing You Can Do Today To Help A Homeless Child

""If you have school-aged child, chances are, in the next couple of weeks, you'll be buying a ton of "Back to School" supplies.

...take your child along with you. And while you are stocking up, explain to your daughter or son that there are a record number of kids this year who are homeless and can't afford the most basic supplies or a backpack. So buy an extra -- notebook, package of pens, crayons -- because whatever your child needs, there is a homeless child who is also returning to school soon who also needs these basics, but can't afford them. And showing up empty handed the first week of school is just one more source of shame for kids who have already shouldered more than any youngster should.""

Osho (Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh)

"The child has to be freed from the family. If you want a new man then the family is an ugly institution, its time is over, it should be replaced by the commune.
and then it is very easy, the commune takes care of all the children. There will be the father, the mother, they can meet the child, the child can come to them.
but basically it is the responsibility of the commune to take care of the children.
The children will have many uncles and many aunts.
The children will have many uncles and many aunts and they will have more opportunity for human contact with different types of people.
They will be immensly enriched."

Politics...Third Pillar of Society

""Olympics are Political, in this instance, transcends Politics and develops world unity.

Iten, Kenya is the capital of the World for athletics, there are over 400 athletes training in Iten and among them World Champions, Olympic Champions and World record holders.
The High Altitude Training Centre (HATC), was founded by World Champion Lornah Kiplagat in 1999. The HATC was officially opened in November 2000 by Mr. Kip Keino, Athletic legend from kenya and member of IOC.""

Good Thoughts Good Words Good Deeds

An easy enough phrase to appreciate...
The phrase "Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds" represent the three pillars of the Zoroastrian Faith and sums up the beliefs and conduct of its followers.

...This first day's blog insert includes a congratulations to Tristan and Jason on their engagement.

I recommend they or anyone sing "Bella Luna" in the shower with your partner.

Lynne and I have been singing it to each other for a year and it's lyrics are as romantic as you will find.
